10 Oct 2014: Bokashi Composting
10 October 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Revolutionise the way you think about composting. Using an organic fermentation process, the Bokashi Bin recycles all your domestic kitchen waste into valuable soil conditioner. Bokashi is a method of recycling food waste that uses fermentation in an anaerobic environment to pickle the waste (a bit like sauerkraut!) and prevent it from smelling bad while the container is filled. Each time scraps are added to the container, a handful of Bokashi (grain inoculated with microorganisms) is sprinkled over the surface. When the container is full the Bokashi is buried (for example in a garden bed) or added to a compost bin where it will break down very quickly due to the pre-digestion during fermentation..
