9 April 2019: Fun with Fermenting

Fermented foods are much sought after for their health benefits & unique taste. You can buy them online, at farmers markets and supermarkets, but why not make your own?  After attending a workshop by Sandor Katz, author of Art of Fermenting, our presenter, Nicola, began experimenting with water kefir and kombucha.

A SCOBY is a living organism – Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast.  Nicola enjoys making it and drinking it, and will share with you the basic recipe, some tips, and pitfalls to avoid.  As a special bonus for the evening, one lucky person will get to take their very own SCOBY home.

Entry cost is free to all financial members of Permaculture Sydney South.  Visitors are welcome to attend with the casual fee of $10 to be collected at the door.  If you are interested in coming along or want more information  please contact permaculturestgeorge@gmail.com.  The evening presentation will commence at 7.00 pm.
