Jenni Phillipe will be sharing her personal and professional journey to reduce her impact on the planet. She will bring to life the process she undertook, the wins and the set-backs, and will share tips and ideas on how to approach such drastic changes in life and how to sustain them.
“Every day I am focused on improving my family’s footprint on the environment, researching new ways of living, sourcing and consuming. We extend the life of our belongings, buying the absolute minimum and minimise impact on natural resources (less meat, no palm oil…) We minimise our land-fill waste, have introduced a compost bin, built a greenhouse to grow our vegetables, removed most single use plastics…….
The next ambition is changing our superannuation and bank to sustainable ones, change our car to be electric, continue towards a true zero waste lifestyle……
Last year I decided to quit my job and focus 100% on making this sustainability journey easier, more convenient and more rewarding for individuals, communities, businesses and government. I have put my financial security on the line, because I think sustainability is more important. I’m 9 months into the transition, and I’m starting to get traction…..”
Entry cost is free to all financial members of Permaculture Sydney South. Visitors are welcome to attend with the casual fee of $10 to be collected at the door.
