Narelle Happ is a garden designer and horticulturalist who specialises in native garden and permaculture design and will be presenting a workshop on “Bush Tucker”.
Bush tucker, also called bush food, is food native to Australia. Aboriginal Australians have used indigenous plants for food and medicine for millennia. This workshop includes the following:
- Cultural significance of bush tucker
- Identify bush tucker species
- Edible and medicinal uses, of a range of species
- Bush tucker taste testing
Narelle will discuss available Bush Food plants and their uses, both currently and traditionally. There will be plants to see and touch and taste testing.
Entry cost is free to all financial members of Permaculture Sydney South. Casual visitors are welcome to attend ($10 to be collected at the door.)
