12 Sept 2014: Waste Not – Want Not

12 September 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Why compost?

Over one million people live in the southern Sydney region and every year each person generates about one tonne of waste. That’s about the same height and width as a family car. The more rubbish we generate, the more landfill we create. This can contribute to environmental problems such as the greenhouse effect and water pollution.

The good news is that 30% of domestic waste is food materials and 25% of domestic waste is garden materials. Both can be easily composted into a rich source of nutrients and fertiliser giving you a better garden, a healthier planet and the reduction in household waste.

SO DON’T THROW IT IN THE BIN, THROW IT IN THE COMPOST AND START REAPING THE BENEFITS OF HOME COMPOSTING.

This workshop is being run by St George/Sutherland Group on Friday 12 Sept starting at 7 pm at Senior Citizens Hall, 76 Pitt Street, Mortdale.  Please let Nat know if you are attending via the St George facebook page.
