Permaculture Sydney South is happy to host: Straw Bale & No-Dig Gardens   by Nada Malkoc & Matt Heffernan

Straw bale and No dig gardens are a novel way to plant vegetables in your garden. One involves planting directly into the strawbale itself while No Dig Gardens are a way to prepare a new garden without digging into your existing soil but instead, building up the bed with layers of different organic material such as branches, manure, lucerne, leaves etc.

The concept of “no dig garden” was documented by Esther Dean in the 1970’s. Her popular book “No Dig Gardening and Leaves for Life” is still available and relevant.

Nada Malkoc will present the topic as she has used these methods for many years and has found both to be very successful. Matt Heffernan will also assist in the presentation.
